The Midgie - Overland / Expedition Camper
Leyland DAF T244 with isolation shelter box (ex UK Military) is a brilliant choice of vehicle for the larger overland / Expedition truck
Already Registered as a camper we decided it really needed an update – however due to new work commitments this is a project still to complete.
The Daf has some superior benefits over newer more expensive base vehicles i. e. no ECU and simple mechanics

5. 9ltr Cummins diesel engine, basic reliable drive train and a simple air brake system and that’s it.
Permanent 4x4, Centre-diff-lock, transfer case (low/ hi range gearbox), Manual 5 speed
Tyres: Standard 12. 00R20 wheels with tubed tyres. Comes with an unused spare chassis mounted.
Cab: Registered with 3 seats and an additional 2 flip seats In the rear of the cab (still to be bolted in) all with integral harnesses.
Outside: Painted in British Army Green
This vehicle was to be built as 4 berth; one double, two bunks pods.
The bathroom/ toilet area has been started along with the bunks and the double bed area – Our plans can be supplied to complete if required:
