This lovely Guzzi Cafe Racer Special was stripped down in 2012. The following changes were made:
-The frame stripped & powder coated.
-Replaced the clutch with an updated splined centre clutch & new springs.
-Replaced the UV joint.
-New stanchions & seals.
-Swing arm bearings & seals.
-Steering head bearings.
-Split the brakes, new braided hoses & VFR master cylinder.
-New seals in the carbs.
-Replaced the original steel tank with a ‘long alloy classic tank’ & side panels.
-Specially made one off bum-stop seat.
-Specially made one off instrument holder.
-Tarozzi rear sets & adjustable handlebars.
-Motobatt AGM battery.
-New clutch cable.
I made the changes to my taste - for an 'old school' look, leaving the original headlamp and front mudguard & cutting down the rear mudguard. Also intentionally not polishing the rocker covers etc, preferring a patina look.
I have only done about 2, 000 miles since this work, so have decided it’s time to sell it so someone else can enjoy it.
Photographs include a photo taken by ‘Bike Shed’ at the ‘Revolution’ show April 2016 in Hastings. The bike has been ridden twice in the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride in London, meeting up with other classic Moto Guzzi riders, and it fitted-in perfectly with the DGR ethos!
