1966 Porsche 911 2. 0 SWB Concours
A special 1966 Porsche 911 2. 0, built and sold to the French racing driver Patrice Sanson via Sonauto.
Sanson competed in the 1967 Le Mans driving a 911S, importantly the 2 litre car offered here was used by Sanson for the preliminary race pictured below. Subsequently the car was used by Sanson for a few hill climb events. In May 1968 the car returned to the Factory at which point the 2. 0 litre engine was up-rated, this is documented in the Kardex.
Exquisitely restored to the absolute highest standards by MMC GmbH. Finished in correct Light Ivory 6404 with period black interior by Ferrarese. Correct and matching 901 type engine and matching gearbox rebuilt by Rennsport of Reggio Emilia.
All works photographically documented and invoiced. Before work commenced the car was photographed revealing a very solid and original car from which to start.
The new six-cylinder 911, conceived as the successor to the much-loved four-cylinder 356 series, was unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show in the fall of 1963, it went into series production one year later. It remains, after 50 years, one of the purest automotive designs.
