One of only 800 produced in 1996 for the Japanese market, with a great specification including 133bhp engine, Torsen LSD, lightweight flywheel, Enkei wheels, extra bracing and a host of other minor cosmetic and mechanical upgrades.
The car is exceptionally solid bodily with no obvious rust anywhere and has had much money spent over the years. During my ownership, I have had the hood replaced with a near perfect double skinned mohair item from a Mk2 MX5 and replaced the tyres for brand new Proxys which seem to suit the car well. The car has been utterly reliable and great fun.
The paintwork is scruffy in places. The air conditioning does not work, and the passenger window cable is broken. The stereo is next to useless.
I had hoped to give the car to my son, however the insurance for a 19-year-old is ruinous and I hate to see it languishing in the garage.
