Footnotes
Two of Italy's most iconic automotive companies are neighbours in 'Motor Valley', Ducati being based in Borgo Panigale (Bologna) while the Lamborghini factory is in nearby Sant'Agata, a mere 20 kilometres away. Both firms are owned by Audi, facilitating their collaboration in producing this limited edition motorcycle, which was created by Ducati to complement the Lamborghini Sian, the first hybrid model from the Sant'Agata factory.
According to Ducati: "The Ducati Diavel 1260 Lamborghini was born from the collaboration between two prestigious brands that have their roots in Motor Valley, the land in Emilia-Romagna within which can be found many of the world's most significant companies in the automotive sector, made in a limited and numbered edition of 630 units.
"To carry out this project, Ducati designers chose to be inspired by the Sián FKP 37, the most prestigious car ever made by Lamborghini: available in only 63 units, each of which personalised to specific customer requests, it is a masterpiece of exclusivity, design and innovation. It is inspired by the Countach, has razor-sharp lines, aerodynamic elegance and an unmistakable silhouette.
"Producing combined thermal and electric power of 819 hp (602 kW), the Sián FKP 37 is the most powerful Lamborghini ever produced."
There had been 'performance cruisers' before the Diavel's (Devil's) arrival in 2011, most notably the Yamaha V-Max and Harley-Davidson V-Rod, but Ducati's take on the concept took it to another level. Powered by a re-tuned version of the testastretta engine found in Ducati's contemporary superbikes, the Diavel put the emphasis firmly on performance, which is exactly what one would expect from a company with Ducati's DNA. Ducatisti everywhere breathed a sigh of relief.
Registered in Italy, the Ducati Diavel Lamborghini we offer has covered 'delivery mileage' only and is offered in effectively 'as new' condition.
Please note that this vehicle has less than 6, 000 kilometres recorded on the odometer, is considered to be a New Means of Transport under EU law and will incur a VAT liability if sold to an EU country other than Italy. The current Italian VAT rate of 22% will be applied on the hammer price and added to the invoice total.
