This little gem has been with the same owner for 50 years, after a very long term restoration that took (the then young) buyer 28 years to achieve, completed to a very high standard, when funds allowed, with nothing rushed and no corners cut, he has now enjoyed and cherished the car in its current delightful condition for the past 22 years, keeping it meticulously maintained and only covering 3000 miles since completion. This is not a workshop fresh restoration with potential teething problems, this is a nicely aged, all working, well proven car that our 50 year owner describes as “ Totally reliable and runs extremely well”.

It starts very easily and runs well, pulling strongly through all the gears, it stops well (see the video) and is steady at speed with no wandering or vagueness. No smoke when pushed hard and no signs of any worrying leaks or drips after a run, we have checked the fluids for correct level and contamination.

The interior is very smart and in brilliant condition, not a mark on the seats, unblemished carpets with matching tailor made over mats, lovely headlining with a sliding sunroof and no water stains, very tidy original dash and a period windscreen heater on the driver’s side. This is one of the best 40’s interiors we have ever seen, anyone at any event cannot fail to be impressed when they climb inside.

Both doors, the boot lid and bonnet, tilting windscreen and sliding roof open, click shut and lock, the windows wind down, the side lights, head lights, horn, wiper and pop out trafficators all work.

It really is a great looker, please ask to see our video, we show you the car driving, being driven, a walk round, under the bonnet, in the boot and the all-important underside, which is just as good as the top side, we have lifted the car 6ft in the air using the structural sills as support and it is totally solid, again please see the video.

The paintwork is very good finished with a gold pin stripe running the full length. The odd imperfection will be found on very close inspection, it has a lovely deep shine and its aged nicely. Bright work is all very good. Tyres all ok with ample tread including the spare wheel, a couple showing age but slows or leaks. The jack is under the bonnet along with the starting handle and wheel brace, in the boot is a period tool roll and stirrup pump and the engine bay “coach key” is in place in its own bracket in the passenger foot well.

We have the current logbook, it was first registered on 12th April 1946, we also have the original buff logbook and the car retains its original registration number. The clock is showing 51272 miles. It is MOT exempt and the road tax is free, also included is an original “Operation Manual” with tips on driving and maintaining, with an introduction that promises “in a concise form all the information normally required for the efficient management and upkeep of a Morris car”.

If you want to chat about owning and driving a classic car like this, give me a call. If you’re not familiar the driving style, maintenance, parts supply or anything else I’m happy to run you through owning and enjoying this little gem of a car with you. Yes, it will run on modern petrol.

Draw out of your boring ISA, get out the picnic hamper and go and enjoy your hard earned savings, you still have a car to sell if you want to cash in later and you will be making memories instead of a pittance of interest.

Nothing hidden and nothing to hide, any inspection welcomed, its patiently awaiting its new owner to cherish it and enjoy some motoring adventures.
