Rare Royal Enfield 1951 500 Twin in largely original condition yet fully mechanically restored.
After some early years use the bike stood unused for many years before being obtained by a well known RE collector and 50s machine expert for the REOC and VMCC because of its originality and rarity. He sadly passed away.
After acquiring the bike I took it to JMS Motorcycles in Andover. The owner there has nearly 100K miles on his own 500 Twin and is an excellent RE man. JMS completely mechanically restored the bike keeping the original patina. The engine is largely new and modified for the external oilways as well as a greater oil circulation feed.
The rear light has been changed to facilitate a brake light and the Lucas Altette horn is not fitted but does come with the bike.
