Description
I have for sale my 1969 Series 2A 12V GS (General Service) Lightweight Land Rover of which this is 1 of 68.
Its military registration was 13 AA 96 & it entered service on the 18/ 03/ 69 & spend most if its life at RAF Sealand (just outside Queensferry, North Wales) & was disposed of on the 08/ 3/ 83 via MOD auction.
Not sure on its history after that!
The previous owner (Dave Pinner & it was featured in Classic Land Rover magazine March 2016 a copy of which comes with the vehicle) carried out a major restoration/ refurbishment to it. Works included being rebuilt on a new galvanised (Richards) chassis, new bulkhead top panel, new footwells & side panels, re-galvanised, new wiring loom along with other various new parts and then it was repainted in this rare RAF Blue Grey. I have also replaced one of the fuel tanks & it also has the sticks & canvas roof that will be re-installed prior to sale.
I purchased this vehicle in April 2019 & it did suffer an engine bay fire in April 2020 and all the repair works we covered by the insurers at a cost of circa £5k and I have the relevant paperwork.
