Mint condition fully restored nut and bolt restoration done in 2019 with some very nice DISCREET upgrades including a 12v upgrade from the old 6v system all carried out by a long standing and well respected scooter restorer based in Portsmouth. This now super rare Vespa 50 special small frame built in the final year of production 1982 of which only 72 were made with this example being one of the very rare UK dealer registered examples on the 7th of February 1983 wearing a Y plate. Still gently running her in on local ride outs so she may need some very fine tuning adjustments along the way albeit for me personally she rides lovely and sounds great and looks the business. Always gets lots of admiring attention when out and about as these small frame Vespa's are sought after now especially in this condition.
This really is one for the real enthusiast and or MOD traditionalist. Super clean condition and she gets a full day of cleaning and polishing and maintenance checks carried out on her after every time i take her out for a ride as i like to keep all my classics in pristine condition. Some people just like to have these rare machines as ornaments in their homes or businesses on show. Its a personal choice thing.
I have taken her to the " ride it day " event each year locally and Tv legend from Shed & Buried Henry Cole has chatted with me about her on a few occasions and he really liked her as did Alan Milliard too who i have met there with Henry a few times now.
Only selling due to ill health issues and lack of regular use otherwise she would NOT be going anywhere. I am also down sizing my classic car collection.
Just recently had a full fresh 12 months M. O. T applied with no advisories on Friday 28th April and also fully serviced too. She is 100% mint and in show condition and ready to ride and enjoy.
She is now over 40 years old so will be exempt from road tax ( £24 saving ) & exempt from M. O. T's albeit i have always had my classics done each year for peace of mind and also keeps the paperwork history going.
She qualifies for "HISTORIC CLASS" status in February 2024 so not long to go now until the logbook can be changed with DVLA which then makes her M. O. T & Tax exempt.
She is registered in my name and at my home address on the logbook too and has been since i bought her 3 years ago after she had been fully restored by the scooter specialist in Portsmouth who has been doing all types of scooters for well over 50 years now and knows his stuff. She only had 3 miles on the clock when i bought her from him and she now only has 923 miles on the clock as i only ride her in dry sunny conditions and mostly during the summer months only albeit she is run up every month and ridden up and down my driveway/ street to keep her in fine fettle all year round.
This will be a bit of a sad sale but no point in her just sitting there looking pretty in my " mancave " as she really needs to be ridden and used sparingly to maintain her stunning condition. All the " MOD " bits can very easily be removed off the scooter in around 15 mins for the " Plain look " if required.
