When the W123 series came on the market in 1975, the lightest diesel version was the 200 D with the 66 hp engine. There was also a need for a more powerful diesel, especially in combination with an automatic gearbox, and Mercedes-Benz also offered the 240 D with the 72 hp 2340 cc diesel engine. The 240 D at Classic Park has this stronger diesel engine in combination with an automatic transmission. The car was painted in the then popular Riedgrün. Despite an engine with the reputation of being indestructible, the mileage is only 95, 000 km. In view of the maintenance booklet, it is likely that this is the correct mileage. The car also has a manually operated steel sliding roof, the striking Mercedes-Benz light-alloy wheels, central locking, heat-resistant glass, a right-hand exterior mirror, and headrests and lighting in the rear. The whole is in very good condition. The car was originally delivered in Germany and has had a Dutch registration since 2009.
