1972 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V-12 Coupe. Original right hand drive manual UK car. Date of manufacture 8th May 1972. Original distributor Henlys, London. Original dealer Stratstone London. 1st owner C Brierley. Registration mark HJD 438K (which was issued in London). 86, 300 miles showing and documented on MOT's going back to 1979. Special order in metallic silver. Jaguar Heritage certificate. 8 former keepers (one owner liked it enough to keep it for 30 years). I have owned and enjoyed this car for the past 4 years. Drives beautifully with positive gear changes. The V12 engine and whole car drives as it should with fabulous torque and cruises comfortably at all speeds. This is an unmolested beautiful car, a real head turner and joy to own and drive. Professionally stored during my ownership, serviced and cared for. Replacement head-lining and carpets. Original chrome wheels and spare. Superb Oil pressure maintains 60 while driving. The car is still running it original Opus electronic ignition system (with the correct coil - thats the secret) and has a spare module, which should see the car through the next 50 years! Starts every time. Previous work to the car includes, new brake master cylinder, servo and callipers, new fuel pump and carburettor overhaul kit. The car has GAZ adjustable shock absorbers fitted all round. Work done during my ownership includes Replacement of both lower control arm outer ball joints, major and minor services, replaced fuel pipes and filter, new heater control valve, removed carburettors, inlet manifolds and rocker covers and reassembled with new seals and gaskets throughout, replaced gear selector to ensure smooth and positive gear changes. As you can see from the photographs the whole car has been well cared for and in lovely, used condition. There are some minor paint blisters (hardly visible), general signs of wear to the leather. A great useable classic car. This is a very good looking E-Type, with good panel fit and doors that close as they should. The aftermarket 'Peep mirrors' keep the cars line clean and the whole thing has a taught and purposeful stance. Ready for some long distance European Touring, why not? Lets show the Italians what a proper Gentleman's V12 looks like!
