Chassis number the details below - first registered on March 9th 1973 in Colchester the car still retains its original service book which shows VW Service Garage Colchester as being the dealers with this book recording 21 of their service stamps upto 62680, miles during 1980. The next service stamp is recorded during November 1980 by J. M. Sloan VW Edinburgh through to May 1983 at 75433 miles. There is also an original owners handbook with the car history. The car has been in the same family since 1991, when it was purchased by a local gentleman for his daughter later transfering the car to his own name in 2002 and later to his wifes name in 2017 which was we believe the last time the car was started and used, this being for a family wedding there, is an invoice for the cars recommissioning for this occaision at a cost of £1100. From the history we can see that around 2000 over £6500 was spent on the car for documented restoration. Currently the car is a non runner we believe due to the length, of time the car has lain unused. Even in 1973 the K70L was a rare site on British roads and was only produced between 1970 and 1975 today examples are seldom available, these are the cars that paved the way for both the Passat and the Golf being the, first FWD Water cooled cars produced by VW. Originally to be marketed as the "NSU K70" VW having taken over NSU in 1969 gave the car their identity.
