Davrian cars were built by Davrian Developments Ltd, owned by Adrian Evans a structural engineer, initially constructed from 1965 in South London but subsequently moved to premises in Wales from 1976 to 1983. Adrian designed a fully glass fibre monocoque structure into which he incorporated components from the Hillman Imp including front and rear suspension plus the aluminium alloy 875cc or 998cc engine which itself was a development of a Coventry Climax design.
Due to the small scale production many small differences occurred during the production process due to availability of parts which has apparently resulted in no two cars being identical.
This MKIV Davrian was first registered July 1970 and was originally painted yellow. During its current ownership upgrades and improvements have been made by the vendor including a change of colour to White. (DVLA still has it as Yellow). The current 875cc engine has unfortunately developed a cylinder head problem which due to health reasons our vendor is unable to undertake correction. However, included in this lot is another valuable 875cc engine which we are advised has been rebuilt to racing specifications and should prove a relatively easy installation. The current engine has been in regular use prior to this sale.
