In 2017, Volkswagen presented the Volkswagen Up! GTI. The GTI variant of the Up! is equipped with new software and a larger turbo. The power increased to 85 kW (115 hp) and the maximum pulling force is 200 Nm between 2, 000 and 3, 500 rpm. This accelerates the Up! GTI from standstill to 100 km/ h in 8. 8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 196 km/ h. The chassis has been lowered by 15 mm, adjustments to the suspension and large wheels with flat tires (size 195/ 40 R17) provide more traction and stability. The model is available in both three- and five-door versions. The Up! GTI is a reference to the Lupo GTI.
