Here we have a lovely 1988 BMW 635 CSi Highline, Automatic, Finished in the rare combination of Cirrus Blue with Beige Leather Interior. It has been with the same owner for the last 22 years and has covered a low 81k Miles from new. Over £12k has been spent recently on restoration work and the car is in a very nice condtion. She was supplied new by L&C in Tunbridge Wells and has over 17 stamps in the service book.
The E24 BMW 6-series was first introduced back in 1976 and it remained in production until 1989, wowing buyers for thirteen years with its winning combination of high-speed civility and mid-pace agility. Powered by a variety of six-cylinder engines and both manual and automatic gearboxes, every single variant could top 130mph, with the range-topping M635CSi able to reach 160mph. While the early cars offer purists the most elegant, simplest looks most enthusiasts prefer the post-1982 models, which changed to the more modern E28 chassis from the then-new BMW 5 Series. This change brought improvements benefit to the exterior and interior, as well as the more obvious mechanical advances. However, no matter where your loyalties fall, most of us can agree that the four-seater 6-series coupe is one of the few classic cars that is as practical as it is beautiful; it is, to our eyes at least, as lovely to look at as any hard-edged German sports car but far easier to use as a daily driver. It?s also as happy on a twisting B-road as it is on the Autobahn as it is on the school/ supermarket run.
This well presented Highline model matches Cirrus Metallic Blue bodywork with beige leather interior trim and rides on a set of Alpina alloy wheels. Its six keepers have travelled a total of 81, 42 miles between them. In the last three years some £12, 500 has been invested in having a new floor installed by Wren Classics of Dorset and both fuel and brake lines replaced, while the model-appropriate ?E24? registration has apparently been on the BMW since new. The previous owner has had the 635 for the last 22 years and the car comes complete with factory-fitted sunroof, Sony CD/ radio, operating manuals, history file and a current MOT valid for 12 months. The interior is quite worn and shows its 81k miles and the body has a few marks here and there but this is a lovely car in a great colour scheme! You can use and improve as you see fit. A really nice honest example with much work restoration work already carried out.
