Description
After the saga of the famous E9 3. 0 CS and CSi ("CS" for Coupé Sport and "I" for injection), BMW replaced that model with the 6 Series following the appearance of the “Neue Klasse”, which was essentially about numbering the models to help the public differentiate them (at the time 3, 5, 6 and 7).
It was in the mid-1970s that the 6 Series E24 appeared, the first version of the 6 Series.
It was first sold as 633 CSi and 630 CS, later becoming during its career 635 CSi and 628 CSi.
It was replaced in 1989 by the BMW E31, the first 8 Series offered by BMW.
NYC’s/ OXOTO puts up for sale a magnificent specimen delivered new in June 1985, in blue (Cosmosblau metallic), blue fabric interior (magnificent and rare colour combination) totalling less than 193, 500 km. We don’t have the full life-trace of this BMW but we do have a lot of documents (service invoices and numerous MOT/ technical inspection reports) from the last 20 years. It is a 6 Series which, according to our information, has stayed German (it’s still registered on German plates).
The bodywork is really very good, except for a few tiny paint bubbles on the right rear wing (very fine and barely visible); we’ve seen no defects! The entire body is in excellent condition, no dents, no scratches and no rust. The chrome is equally flawless and shows no trace of corrosion.
As for the interior, it’s in very good condition indeed! Although the seats are fabric, there isn’t a single tear, only a very fine wear on the side of the driver’s seat but it’s really very light. All seats, dashboard, centre console, headlining, steering wheel, door trims, carpets – all is really in excellent condition! Note only some wear on the right door pillar near the beltline. Everything also works, such as the radio, power windows, and the HVAC (hot/ cold).
Mechanically, it’s really in good order, nothing to budget for. It runs great, it starts without issue, its handling is straight, it stops very well too, gear changes are smooth, in short, it’s evident this car has been lovingly cared for over the years.
The last technical inspection date is May 2024 and it notes no advisories.
The car has a 5-speed manual gearbox and options including: three-spoke sport steering wheel, BBS wheels, power windows (these are still the original glass!), spare wheel, the complete toolkit, … We also have a second set of keys.
A hoist is available at our premises to show you the underside of the vehicle.
