Beschreibung

The Aston Martin DBS V8 was the last model overseen by David Brown himself, and thanks to the inspirational William Towns design and the Tadek Marek fuel injected engine, became an iconic design of the era and the fastest four seat production car available at the time!
Of the 404 DBS V8?s built, there were only 182 manual gearbox RHD?s, of which only two were in this gorgeous combination of Dubonnet Rosso over White Gold. There is no record of the other car surviving making this car therefore unique.
The car is matching numbers, being verified by the Aston Martin Heritage Trust. It is completely original and retains all its original parts, including the Bosch mechanical fuel injection. It even retains the original distributor which is incredibly rare!
GGX 57J was first registered on 19th May 1971, and acquired by the previous owner a gentleman from Bridgnorth in 1974 and last had an MOT on 3rd December 1976 at 61, 833 miles. The car was then taken off the road shortly after at 61, 892 miles; where it remained stored within a building that was part of home until his sad passing.
We were shocked to take the phone call from the owner?s brother, our surprise even more amplified that that such a car had spent so long under our noses around the corner, hidden from the world under dustsheets within his home.
Shortly before the previous owners passing in 2019, he had planned to convert the cylinder heads to lead free fuel but this work was not undertaken. He partially stripped the engine but stopped work due to poor health and diligently labelled and carefully stored the few parts he stripped, all of which accompany the car today.
The car was then bought by the current owner, a CMC client with a penchant for highly original and complete cars. We undertook painstaking conservation works to clean and protect the beautiful first paint finish and original interior. The car now looks stunning, with its original Dubonnet Rosso paint finish, original supple leather trim, original bright works, glassware and wheels - all unrestored!
The car retains its original ?buff? log book, original Workshop and Instruction manuals, factory build sheet, heritage certificate, and is accompanied by an extensive history file - it even has the original spare wheel cover!
Being a ?Bond? car (On Her Majesty's Secret Service) and being entirely original, the car was chosen to be part of an illustrious car display for a spectacular James Bond themed ball held on board the pride of the Royal Navy, HMS Queen Elizabeth in 2022.
Sadly, the current owner has decided to let this car go and is now presented for sale. The car stands beautifully original and is ready for ready for the next phase before it joins its rightful place back on our roads.
Definitely one for the serious Aston Martin collector or classic collector who truly appreciates originality! A wonderful car that at first was deemed lost by Aston Martin aficionado?s is available publicly for sale for the first time in 47 years. We dare you to find another car like this.
