A highly original example of the 1969 Aston Martin DBS (Chassis DBS/ 5240/ R), retaining its authentic character while benefiting from careful refurbishment throughout it’s life. Powered by a 4. 0L inline-six, it delivers the refined performance expected from a ‘David Brown’ era Aston Martin, through it’s original 5-Speed manual ZF gearbox.
This car has been sympathetically refreshed throughout the last decade, including a full interior re-trim by Aldridge Trimming and a cosmetic rebuild by VRV Automobiles. Past engine work by Spencer Street Garage ensures it runs as it should.
Designed in-house by William Towns, the Aston Martin DBS made an immediate impact with its striking, modern lines. Autocar noted at the time: “Without the aid of an Italian stylist, the Newport Pagnell team produced a design as modern, elegant, and Italianate as anything coming out of Turin”.
