The Italian design studio Pininfarina created the trapeze line and many car manufacturers like BMC, Austin, FIAT and Lancia followed the trend. Daimler-Benz also went the same direction but much more subtly. Its motto was always “one step behind the latest fashion!”. In August 1959 the trade professionals were presented with the new models and the experts were delighted! The “Newbie” was the most revolutionary Mercedes since the pontoon series.
Our Mercedes-Benz 220 S b Limousine hails from Sweden and hence comes with the rare cooling louvre Its original data sheet is available and its current owner (since 2005) is only the second owner in Germany. All service receipts since then are available. At mileage 300, 000 km original engine as well as the front and rear axles received a complete overhaul. Some body damage in the back was fully and professionally repaired by a well known classic body shop. This classic drives very reliably and comes with flair and history!
