We are delighted to present for sale this 1981 Series 3, finished in the sought after Light Pastel Green colour scheme, with Sand Canvas and Limestone Wheels. This truck has only had six former keepers since being registered in 1981 – so only once every 7 years or so.
Externally, this Series 3 has had a refurbishment in times past – with recent bumper, recent canvas, matching bonnet mounted spare, a set of Michelin Latitude 750 tyres (a very reputable tyre which is not cheap), defender door mirrors for better visibility when driving, height adjustable towbar with electrics – handy for all types of modern trailer… etc etc. The bodywork is a spray finish too, at a better standard than we usually see at this price point, which is nice to note. We could wax on all day about how pretty we believe this vehicle to be – but the photos do the talking, and we are confident this would make a great addition to anyones household!
On the inside, the interior is largely standard throughout – with three front standard seats, all with belts, and a set of rear bench seats, again all with belts – meaning seating for seven including the driver in safety and relative comfort. Deluxe matting is fitted to the floors in the front with a rear load mat fitted to protect against scratches too. It is nice to see areas which usually suffer – like the dash top – are in great condition.
Out on the road, this Series 3 delivers a pleasing period drive – aided by the larger rubber for better cruising and a Weber Carburettor for better power over standard. Servo brakes mean less effort for the driver to get the vehicle stopped quickly if so required. The cross climate tyre means a good road holding experience too. Vintage cool looks mean lots of positive attention when driven on our test route, that thanks to the seven seats with belts, the whole family and pets can enjoy.
In summary, if you are looking for a refurbished Series 3 which benefits from MOT & Tax exemption along with Classic Insurance, then this could be for you.
