Big Indian power plus engine
In beautifully restored condition
Based in Paris and initially known as D. S., from 1920 the company used their own engines along with Aubier & Dunne, Train, Duten, Chaise, and possibly Gem until 1939, and post-war used engines. Mr Debladis and Mr Sigrand were importers of Harley Davidson from around 1920, it was then believed that they dabbled in making their own machines using Harley Davidson engines of which four were known to have been produced at the time. It is reported that two D. S. Malterre machines were built using the big Indian 1000cc V-twin power plus engine and this is the only survivor known to exist. There is very little information concerning the larger capacity CC machines.

Purchased by the current vendor in 2015 as he fell in love with it, it has formed part of his collection of machines that he has now decided to let go of due to other commitments. It was restored to a very high standard at the time, some 20 years ago. During the restoration the whole machine was stripped down, engine rebuilt, the gearbox rebuilt, the original Dixie magneto was rebuilt, and all the nickel plating was done to a high standard as the paintwork. Used sparingly since it was purchased, it was picked to go into Lord March's special enclosure at the famous Goodwood Revival. The machine is a very handsome vehicle and would make a great addition to a collection or a rider. You will never find another one. It comes complete with a magazine article on the machine and some information from the Grandson of Mr. Sigrands with information that the machine may have been used in races of the day, but there is no documentation to back this up. Some light recommissioning would be advised before use.
