Speedbroker are thrilled to offer this exceptional foray into 1960s American car culture with this beautiful fourth generation Chrysler Newport Sedan.
Based on the Chrysler C platform, sharing DNA with the Plymouth Fury and taking inspiration from the fourth generation Lincoln Continental, the fourth generation Newport offered an “entry level” family sedan with lashings of charisma and styling prowess. Using the legendary Firebolt 383 v8 - the Mopar performance beast. The Newport shares this big block with the elite of muscle cars of the time including the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger, and vehicles like the Jensen Interceptor and Facel Vega - albeit with different levels of output.
Imported from Michigan in 2006, the car came into the UK with completely original interior/ exterior all straight with no filler or welding. The vehicle was purchased by a film production company in 2020 where various restoration works were undertaken. The seats were re - trimmed and various aesthetic / paintwork / repairs were carried out to the exterior of the vehicle.
Everything works including the original lamp light and AM radio, heater and air vents. Interior is in fantastic order throughout , a total time warp, with the gorgeous re-trimmed seats completing the carpeting, and door cards in beautiful order.
There is lovely natural patina with the chrome in good condition in general, with some pitting totally commensurate with the age and use of the vehicle , and the rear bumper has some flaking. Underneath is completely solid - the sills and hardware present in excellent order from our initial inspection - we have some pictures available, but we would encourage all inspections from a potential purchaser. It looks to have never been undersealed.

The vehicle presents and drives beautifully, drives straight and true, vehicle has been recently driven in heavy traffic as well as the open road and performed beautifully, the brakes are efficient given the size of the car.
The overall condition can only be described as excellent for the age of the car. There are some signs of surface rust in some places, and surface rust in the boot - (pics available) , however considering the vehicle has not had a recent full restoration and is now approaching 60 years old, it’s a testament to the quality of the car and the fastidious nature of previous keepers.

Showing 6, 760 miles on the clock (although judging by the MOT history of the vehicle we are confident it has covered 106, 760 total miles) the car was clearly loved, enjoyed and covered ample miles between its import in 2006 and today. The current vendor is selling due to lack of use, and would love the car to go to an enthusiast who will continue the car's incredible story.
The car has been used in productions such as Golda - with Helen Mirren, and on set in Tim Burton's Dark Shadows.
