Aston Martin brought the name DBS to life in 1967 and linked it to the innovative coupé, a beautiful Grand Tourer. In 2007, the name was used again for yet another beautiful coupé and the new flagship of Aston Martin, the successor to the Vanquish. In 2009, the DBS also went on sale as a Volante: an extremely chic but also muscular and sporty convertible as only the English and Italians can design. Brutal but also understated. Timelessly beautiful, a classic in the making… A wonderful car to cover long distances, as a GT is meant to. But make no mistake: the DBS Volante is also a thoroughbred sports car with a magnificent 6-liter V12 of 517 hp under the bonnet that launches the car to 100 km/ h in just 4. 3 seconds when desired. In order to be able to brake adequately on demand, the DBS Volante is equipped with carbon ceramic brakes. To reduce weight, sheet metal parts such as the bonnet, boot lid and front fenders are made of carbon fibre.
When you are at your destination, where it is beautiful and sunny, for example on the Côte d'Azur, the soft top can be opened fully electrically in just 14 seconds at the push of a button. If you think that takes a bit too long, this can also be done while driving at low speed. While we are on the subject of the sun: the paint colour, Storm Black, is difficult to photograph. It is a black paint layer with red metallic flakes. In sunlight, a truly insanely beautiful and deep colour.
Both the paintwork and the carbon of the DBS are in a very nice condition, exactly as you would expect with this mileage. The interior is also in a very good condition, even the vulnerable entry parts are in a beautiful condition. It has been well looked after, that much is clear. We have double-checked that. The parts made of carbon fibre cannot of course be measured with a paint thickness gauge, the parts that can be measured with a paint thickness gauge (windshield pillar, both doors, rear fenders and soft-top cover) have a nice low paint thickness value of only between 90 and 140 um. That is reassuring.
The Aston Martin was delivered new in 2010 by the Eindhoven brand dealer Cito Motors and has been registered in the Netherlands since 2013. The car has always been maintained by Cito Motors and has a full maintenance history. The last maintenance service was recently carried out by Kroymans Hilversum.
And last but not least: for a delicious sound, the car was fitted with an original Quicksilver sports exhaust at Cito Motors, beautiful in the tunnels that the roads around the Italian lakes are rich in.
