Hello , L'atelier des 1000 is pleased to offer for sale this 1969 Land Rover 88 Séries Station Wagon in a superb original patina and a typical Light Green configuration. Significant work has been carried out on the chassis, brakes and mechanics to ensure that the vehicle is in good working order whilst retaining as much of its authenticity as possible.
This Land is ideal for enthusiasts of vehicles in their original condition, but can also be an ideal base for a cosmetic restoration, mainly by repainting the bodywork. The original paintwork looks good and has that famous patina that we are so fond of. The side panels have no major deformations and the galvas are in very good condition. The vehicle is supplied with a Safari roof, although it is possible to fit a tarpaulin roof or a pick-up roof at extra cost. The front Deluxe upholstery is new, while the rear is fitted with folding seats that can legally be used as a 7-seater. The on-board instrumentation is functional. Mechanically, it handles very well.
The engine starts easily, without noise or smoke, and has full power. The engine compressions have been checked, and are within the expected values and perfectly balanced. A mechanical service was carried out for the sale, including an engine oil and filter change, gearbox, axle and transfer case oil changes, carburettor cleaning, and replacement of the spark plugs and ignition wiring harness. The braking system was also overhauled, and the master cylinder, wheel cylinders, rigid pipes and hoses were replaced as new.
The cylinder head was removed to make it watertight again, so we replaced the valve stem seals, the cylinder head gasket and the rocker arm cover gasket. The hydraulic clutch control system was also refurbished, and the transmitter, receiver, hose and rigid pipe were replaced. The battery was also replaced. The chassis underwent major sheet metal work, with almost 100 hours of work carried out to renovate its structure. The rear crossmember and a chassis stretcher were replaced, while the ends of the floorboards and the fuel tank supports were replaced. The underpinnings have been completely stripped and then re-protected, so the whole vehicle is in good condition and free from corrosion.
