Austin Seven Ruby 1935 and running! Company history The Austin Seven was introduced to the public in 1922. Sir Herbert Austin, later Lord Austin, was responsible for the original design of the Seven. The detailed designs were largely carried out by Stanley Edge. This Ruby is entirely original and has never been tarnished. As you can see, the car has its patina but the car is in good condition and has no rust anywhere. What's also super cool to see is the Ruby's sliding roof which used to be an option as well as the stop panel on the back of the boot lid for the spare wheel. The Austin is also in working order. It starts and runs, drives well and shifts gears without a hitch. What's more, the radiator is in good condition and doesn't leak. Overall, an original Ruby in good condition!
