The Audi 80 B3, presented in the summer of 1986, went on sale in France at the Paris Motor Show in October 1986. It followed in the footsteps of the Audi 100, launched at the end of 1982 using the new "aerodynamic design" concept, with a record air penetration cx for its time (0. 29). The slogan chosen by the manufacturer for the launch of this model was "New Audi 80: born of fluidity". In addition to its aerodynamic qualities, it presented Audi for the first time in this "premium compact" segment, as a rival totally comparable in quality to the Mercedes 190 or the BMW 3 series, while being more modern in design. But beyond these industrial considerations, the model we are offering you is absolutely exceptional: bought new at the Michel Ange dealership in Paris 16 on 17 February 1987, our Audi 80 1. 8 S had only one owner, who preserved it for the rest of his life with unrivalled care and attention. It spent most of its life stored in the heated basement of the family villa, where it was protected from light and dust by thick blankets and knurls. Inside, 3 levels of carpet overlay preserved the original carpet. The doors were not slammed to avoid crushing the seals during storage, and the battery was kept under charge compensation. A thick filing cabinet traces the entire history of the car, starting of course with the order form, the purchase invoice, the period accessory catalogue and all the subsequent invoices... It was only used two or three times a year to travel between the Paris residence and the family home in the south of the Haute-Vienne, where we discovered it a few weeks ago. Aesthetically, we had ASOLUMENT nothing to do to the car, just wash it, vacuum it and do the windows: it is the very illustration of the 'time capsule' that has survived almost 4 decades protected from any aggression. The paintwork is all original, and the car is in the same condition as when it was delivered in February 1987. We carefully 'woke up' this sleeping beauty by replacing all the filters and fluids, the brakes, the four tyres (new but too old) and the timing gear. The 90 bhp engine, already reputed to be unbreakable, works to perfection. We don't think it's possible to find an AUDI 80 of this generation in a better original condition than this one. We hope to find a new owner who will be able to acquire a new 1987 Audi.
