MG MGB - Chassis number: GHN 5 200 186 G - Veteran appraisal: 02. 06. 2021 - 1st registration: 22. 04. 1970 Always ready to go! An authentic representative of British convertibles with its 1800 cm3 engine developing around 95 bhp, its power is enough to take you anywhere! The MG MGB is one of the marque's greatest success stories, and the model on sale today is a Phase 1 (1962-1974), the most popular version with original chrome bumpers. With the exception of the steering wheel, this MGB is entirely original. Its battery, originally a 2 x 6V, is now a 12V. History This vehicle has a rare feature: it has belonged to the same owner since 1986! The car has always been maintained by its current owner, who holds a restoration and follow-up file. This MGB was purchased in Geneva in 1986 and is not in perfect cosmetic condition, but starts straight away without any mechanical problems. Always well maintained, it benefits from a detailed invoice history. Originally painted green, it was subsequently painted blue and then red by the current owner when it was acquired in 1986. It underwent extensive restoration work when it was purchased, including rebuilding the wings, rocker panels, front suspension and leather seats.
Work carried out When it was purchased in 1986, this MGB underwent major work: Replacement of the wings and rocker panels Complete rebuilding of the front suspension Complete repainting Extensive work on the engine The last major overhaul was two years ago, and the vehicle has been driven very little since then. Condition of the vehicle Externally, it is as good as new, and despite a few signs of wear here and there, it retains its charm. The wings, underbody and chrome are in good condition following the work carried out. Inside, the seats, replaced some ten years ago, are as good as new. The dashboard and controls are functional, and the steering wheel has been replaced by a more recent model. Mechanically, the engine runs perfectly and the gearbox is smooth. The chassis is sound, with no major signs of corrosion. The only work to be carried out on the vehicle is on the soft top, which is worn but still watertight (estimate and work on request). This vehicle can be viewed and tested by appointment in Montreux. CarYouNeed. ch is a website specialising in the sale of classic and sports cars.
