1967 BSA 650cc Spitfire Mark II Special

This BSA Spitfire was despatched by the factory to Elite Motors, Tooting on 23rd February 1967 and first registered on 4th May '67 (see dating letters on file). In 2016 the then owner wrote to the DVLA requesting ownership details; he received copies of several V5s detailing the ownership back to 1979. The final copy is of an old-style logbook listing two owners. However, it is too indistinct to ascertain dates. The last recorded keeper on it is a Mr Keith Clunie, who is also the recorded keeper on the 1979 V5.
Also on file are typed details of a 2015 restoration by the then owner, Mr Steve Daniels of Hitcham, which included a repaint, new wheels, engine rebuild, gearbox rebuild, new wiring harness, and a new seat, while all nuts and bolts are stainless steel or re-plated. The Spitfire is certainly nicely restored, with 30 miles recorded, presumably since restoration (the engine turns over with good compression). The excellent history file contains a quantity of invoices for parts; various instruction and workshop manuals; the aforementioned registration history; and a V5C recording the late owner as keeper from June 2018 (he purchased the BSA for £7, 650). Following a period of inactivity, this motorcycle will require recommissioning to a greater or lesser extent and thus is sold strictly as viewed. Offered with keys.
