Furlonger are pleased to offer this Ferrari Testarossa which has remained in single ownership since 1997. Originally configured in what is undoubtedly the most collectible specification of Rosso Corsa over a Crema interior, chassis no. 82644 still wears this specification today.
Ordered and delivered new via Melbourne Garage LTD, then Ferrari concessionaire in Jersey, C. I, this Ferrari Testarossa was collected by its primary custodian, Mr D. Murphy in September 1989. The car would be driven diligently in warm, dry conditions by Mr. Murphy and routinely visit Melbourne Garage LTD for its servicing requirements. After several years of ownership and covering circa 4, 000 miles, Mr. Murphy decided to sell the Testarossa via HR Owen London in 1997, to wit the car’s current keeper took ownership.
This Ferrari Testarossa’s newest and current owner had fulfilled a life-long dream to purchase a Ferrari and little did he know that it would in fact be the first of many. He was fortunate enough to own several other special Ferraris since his purchase of the Testarossa, including an F40 and 330 GTC. Like the Testarossa, these purchases were made from pure enthusiasm, with no intention of them becoming a commodity. He would own these cars for a just couple of years at a time as none could match the experience or attachment he had with the Testarossa, thus still owning it today.
Throughout the early stages of his ownership, this Testarossa car would routinely visit Maranello Sales LTD and have no expense spared in the process. By 1999, the car had covered 14, 000 miles, a significant jump over a 2-year period. The owner informed us that the sole purpose of the Testarossa was for his enjoyment, and although he would drive it frequently, this would be done strictly in dry weather conditions and the car would be stored accordingly. The Testarossa’s servicing was later entrusted to a close friend of the owner, a gentleman who had previously worked for Ferrari and continued to maintain their cars for dozens of other owners.
In 2022, this Testarossa was delivered to Furlonger so our workshops could conduct a comprehensive service with the replacement of cambelts. The car has since covered just a few hundred miles and presents excellently in all regards. Now offered for sale, this Testarossa would make a fitting addition to any Ferrari enthusiast’s collection. Accompanied by its original service handbook, manuals, leather document wallet and numerous invoices and MOTs.
This car will receive an annual service with cambelt replacement as part of the sale.
