The first Royal Enfield motorcycle was built in 1901 by the Enfield Cycle Company of Redditch having previously manufactured bicycles, lawnmowers and stationary engines. Under various ownership, the name has continued through to the present day making it one of themost enduring names of the two-wheeled world. The 250cc single-cylinder Crusader was a very popular bike in its day and doubtless ignited the interest of many a future motorcyclist.
On offer is a registered 1960 Royal Enfield Crusader that was first registered to Alf Hickin Motorcycles on the 1st January 1960. It was sold the next day to Mr Young who then traded it back in with Alf Hickin Motorcycles in 1962. The Crusader had many owners thereafter before being purchased by the current vendor in 2015. It has been subject to a light restoration and has been used since and is now accompanied by a current V5C, an old RF60 logbook and DVLA correspondence. Some recommissioning may be required before use.
