1977 Ford Escort RS2000 Mk2 . Good useable example which is on the button, everything working, and comes with a current MOT till April 2026. This is a decent looking car and can be driven home. We have the V5, a well presented history file with receipts back to 2007, old Mots and tax discs back to 1998. The car has had 8 previous owners. If you want a concours car this is not it. If you want a very presentable, useable example which wont break the bank in terms of RS2000s then read on.
Body - The car is solid. It has had repairs on the floors, bootwells, innersills in the past. These are visible but are strong and solid. Its got a later nosecone fitted and a later bootlid. Paintwork is very nice and the car presents well. The black on the bumpers and grille is gloss rather than satin, but looks absolutely fine. It should have the sills painted black but again an easy fix, if it bothers you. Good glass, rubbers, mirrors and trim. The dash cut out is correct and as it should be for an RS2000
Mechanics - Car starts easily with no smoke or rattles. 5 Speed gearbox fitted. Brakes and clutch are good. Car drives well and is nice and tight. Very slight rumble from the diff but nothing youd need to do anything about in the short term. Tramp bars present on the axle. Uprated front discs, Under the bonnet all looks standard with the standard RS mainfold and air filter. It has the alloy sump, mounts and bellhousing
Interior - Very tidy inside. seats have been redone and look great. It has the correct early white needle dash and all gauges work. Dashtop is good, headlining , doorcards and carpet are all good.
Wheels - Proper 6 x 13 RS alloys with good 175/ 70/ 13 tyres.
