Description
Well remembered by those of us 'of a certain age', this extremely rare Ford Zephyr MK4 2. 5 V6 Deluxe is one of the Uranium run out models sold by Ford in late 1971 and early 1972. Limited to 1000, there can surely only be a handfull left. This limited edition came with the unique Uranium Blue paint finish, blue nylon trim, wing mirrors and Zodiac style wheel trims.
With just one family for over 50 years, the car was supplied by Hartwells of Oxford supported by the original sales invoice showing the car being fitted with a single reversing lamp, key fob and various other insurance documents. It has been in dry storage for at least 25 years which accounts for the exceptional condition of the interior and solid bodywork. Underneath is excellent and the owner has sympathetically re-commissioned the car including new brake master cylinder, rebuilt calipers, hoses etc. The engine has been stripped and found to be in excellent condition with just gaskets, oil pump and seals required. A new clutch was also fitted together with new coolant hoses and water pump. A rare find, a new old stock carburettor, was also fitted and as a result, she runs very nicely.
These were quite advanced cars for their time and has four wheel disc brakes together independent rear suspension and is truly spacious, this model benefiting from a floor gearchange and individual front seats.
Ideal for the larger family or Ford collector, this is an outstanding example.
