A bit of Dodge WC52 History:
The Dodge WC series was one of the U. S. Army’s most widely used vehicles during World War II, produced between 1942 and 1945. The WC52, equipped with a front-mounted Braden MU winch, was a light 4x4 utility truck used for troop transport, cargo carrying, and as a weapons platform. Powered by the dependable Dodge 6-cylinder flathead engine, it earned a reputation for rugged reliability in the toughest conditions — from the deserts of North Africa to the forests of Europe.
Over a quarter of a million WC series trucks were built, and the WC52 was among the most versatile, serving alongside GIs, Allied troops, and even continuing in civilian and military use after the war. Today, surviving examples like this one are highly sought-after by collectors and military vehicle enthusiasts.
