Here we have a very nice example of a 1955 Tri Chevy Bel Air. It Looks faboulous in its two tone burgundy and cream paint scheme .

This is now ordinary 55 however .. The car has been sensibly upgraded over the years , whilst still preserving its original charm where possible, and packs some punch .

Coming from long term ownership, this car has been treasured by its owners , and has won a few awards over that period and as recently as August this year won a trophy at the Supernats Show where it was being displayed as part of a 70th anniversay tribute display for the Tri Chevy ..

The car was recenty fitted with a new Blueprint 383 Stroker Engine which cost £7500 alone . Its only covered 480 careful miles since, and we will change the running in oil to high mineral content 20/ 50 before delivery . New ancilleries were also fitted inc. a polished Holley Carb and tubular headers , stainless steel exhaust , alloy radiator with electric cooling fan .

At the same time a new TH 350 Auto gearbox was fitted which operates from the original column change .

This car now runs rack and pinion power assisted steering , power assisted disc brakes , Mustang II front suspension with tubular arms , so stopping and handing is vastly improved on the original . I drove the car yesterday for 25 miles , and can report that it performs well .

The car received a full bare metal respray a few years ago, and still looks superb . The paintshop , who specialises in American Cars , remarked at the time how rust free the car was ..

The chrome is in good order , with only the rear bumper showing some areas of pitting .

Interior is largely original , but still in great condition. The seats have been re-stuffed so are comfortable . The headlining is original. There are 4 electric windows fitted .

The dash guage pack has been replaced , and is fully working . There is a hidden modern stereo in the glovebox .

The car comes with a decent history file, with many recent invoices totally thousands ..

We would always arrange delivery and will take anything interesting in part exchange .

There is a walk round video on the St Andrews Autos youtube channel .

Please contact Andrew for more details .

Thanks for reading .
