The Lambretta TV175 series 3 was launched in March 1962 and it was the first scooter supplied with an internal disc brake. It was a remarkable change from the previous TV175 series 2 with new sleek slim styling. The front shock absorbers were enhanced with extra dampers as in the previous TV series 2 models. The TV series 3 also had larger silent blocks than the previous engines and it had a very good reputation as a smooth and well-balanced scooter with great handling attributes.
This astonishing creation has been formed around a genuine Italian TV175. Our vendors dream was to create a special machine using only the very best equipment and expert services that he could. All of the mechanics were done by AF Rayspeed one of the leading names in Lambretta engineering, the customisation and panel paint paint was done by Image Design Custom of Camberley and the chrome by AG Brigg of Leeds. The total cost of the scooter to achieve this result has been in excess of £11, 500. Indeed we can see over £3300 in itemised bills from Rayspeed alone (supplied). The paint was over £3500 according to our vendor. With cost of the chrome work and the actual purchase price of the scooter it is easy to see how this could add up.
Still a standard 175cc machine we can see from the comprehensive Rayspeed billing that very high quality parts have been used throughout. With brand new internals completely the engine which is painted in black has a new Mahle 175 piston, Mazzocchelli GP crank, high quality 12v Red Seal Readspeed stator, GP200 electronic flywheel and the list goes on. The paint and mural work was done by Image design Customs famous for supplying multiple racing sport champions and show motorcycles with their designs and one needs only to search their website to see the impressive quality. Or vendor has been fastidious about this machine and the small details like adding black leg shield trim, handgrips and black switch and also the K2 supplied horncast badge and foot pedal all add to the impressive effect. The seat is also a one-off with TV175 embossed into the leather. All keys are of course present. Priced to sell.
