Barn find 1969 Triumph Spitfire Mk3 – For Restoration
A great opportunity to acquire a 1969 Triumph Spitfire Mk3 restoration project — a charming British sports car with an low ownership history and plenty of potential for revival.
This example has been with its last owner for around 46 years and has been dry stored for most of its life, believed to have been off the road since the 1990s. The V5 is present and registered in the current owner’s name.
Finished in black with a matching black interior, it presents well considering its decades in hibernation. The interior, in particular, has survived the years remarkably well.
The Triumph Spitfire Mk3, introduced in 1967, marked a significant step forward for the model. Designed by the celebrated Giovanni Michelotti, it featured a more powerful 1296cc engine, front disc brakes, and subtle styling updates, including a reprofiled bonnet and revised rear end. The Mk3 offered spirited performance for its size, capable of nearly 100 mph, and quickly became one of the most popular and accessible British roadsters of its era.
