Brief presentation: The Mercedes-Benz SLK is a car produced by the German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz, belonging to the roadster segment with a metal retractable roof. SLK stands for Sportlich (sporty), Leicht (light) and Kompakt (compact). In late 1996 the first generation, chassis R170, was released, which was replaced by the new 2004 model. The first version derives, for mechanics and chassis, from the C-Class. In the market it aimed to carve out space in the segment previously occupied by other German cars such as the Porsche Boxster and the BMW Z3. From the same R170 platform the DaimlerChrysler group also introduced another model, released when the old SLK range was leaving, called the Chrysler Crossfire. In the early years of production the available versions were only three, all equipped with a four-cylinder inline engine. At launch the price was around 60, 000, 000 lire.
