BMW 319 Cabriolet Frazer-Nash
Presented in Bavarian blue with light Ivory leather and hood with complementing black carpets. factory heater, Andre Hydro-Telecontrol adjustable suspension, original tool kit, books and manuals. Original 1936 BMW battery charger and garage heater !
This BMW was one of the very first 4 examples ordered in 1935 by Archie Frazer Nash from BMW when he started his business in 1935 ( later to become AFN ) and badged " Frazer-Nash BMW " with only 42 being sold in the UK over 3 years. Delivered new to her first owner a very well known pianist Alexander Siloti on the 16th October 1939 to his London home. It was sold after his death to the second owner passing via a dealer to the 3rd owner in 1957 who sold it to the last owner in 1959 who promptly named it “Buster” and kept the 319 with his exceptionally well known and rallied 328 Roadster, which ironically he purchased from my neighbour in 1950!
During his 66 years of ownership this BMW has one of the most comprehensive, meticulously documented histories I have seen. That details and documents every service, additional work performed from 1959 to 2025 copious other books filled with notes, files, invoices, photographs, owners books and manuals.
There are 6 large chests of spares and associated items collected over the years with the vehicle.
I have personally driven this BMW Frazer Nash some considerable distance and you instantly realise how incredibly advanced BMW was in 1935 and how beautifully these powerful 6 cylinder BMW's drive with adjustable suspension, synchro gear box and it retains a really very crisp and nimble feel and has a good heater too!
I have been in this business for nearly 40 years and it is almost unheard-of to find a such a very rare car, which was the start of BMW’s sales in the UK, with a known and detailed history from new that is stunningly original. With factory matching numbers, a documented low mileage and very low ownership with everything it left the factory with 90 years ago still with it.
The vehicle qualifies for historic tax and MOT exemption but is mot tested and has a full V5c Log book too.
