Part of Ferrari's eminent tradition of grand touring berlinettas, the two-seater 599 GTB Fiorano pays tribute, through its name, to the brand's private track adjacent to the Scuderia in Maranello, where Formula One single-seaters, racing cars, and road models are tested, and thus benefits from technological innovations derived notably from F1 experience. Michael Schumacher, himself, a seven-time Formula One World Champion, collaborated on its development during his final years racing for the Scuderia.
At its launch, the 599 GTB Fiorano stood out not only as the sportiest and highest-performing model in the lineup but also as the most powerful V12 production berlinetta ever developed in Maranello. Its 5, 999-cc V12, inherited from the Enzo, produces 620-horsepower, only 40 less than the Enzo, yet over a hundred more than the 575M Maranello, which it replaced. Among the key innovations it features are the six-speed F1 paddle-shift transmission, now in its third generation since development, which in its SuperFast version is up to three times faster, more precise, and exceptionally optimized, and the F1-Trac traction control, previously reserved for drivers like Kimi Räikkönen in pursuit of ultimate grip. As a result, its performance can be fully exploited with rare ease, accompanied by a captivating soundtrack.
Its muscular and profoundly elegant lines, designed by Pininfarina, allow the car to hug the road through their downward flow. The aerodynamics once again evoke Formula One inspirations in this berlinetta, which, with its cockpit that is both sporty and luxurious and rear luggage area with straps, continues the invitation to grand touring.
Chassis number 157090 was delivered new through Radicci Automobili, the Ferrari–Maserati dealership in Bari, at the heart of the idyllic Italian Apulia landscape along the Adriatic Sea, in a striking all-black configuration, fitted with the F1 gearbox featuring the SuperFast functionality, one of the model's most innovative elements. The exterior Nero Daytona paint and the Nero leather interior were highlighted with sharp touches of yellow, embodied by the Giallo Modena brake calipers, the prancing horse shields, and the tachometer, whose redline spectacularly begins at 8, 400 revolutions per minute. The cabin also featured, as factory options, carbon-fiber inserts, fully electric seats, a leather headliner, as well as a satellite navigation system, the BOSE Hi-Fi system with an iPod kit, and front parking sensors.
Maintained by Radicci Automobili until 2011, at 5, 824 km, 12, 978 km, and finally 14, 064 km, according to the stamps in its accompanying service book, the 599 GTB then passed through Germany, where it was serviced by Formula Italia in Hilden at 23, 405 km in May 2013, before reaching Sweden, its current country. It was in 2014, upon its arrival in Sweden, that it received the HGTE package, at under 27, 000 km, from authorized Ferrari dealer Autoropa. HGTE, for Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione, is a package introduced in 2009 that enhances road behavior, handling, feedback, and the overall driving experience, featuring revised electronic management for improved throttle and gearbox response, new 20-inch wheels, additional carbon fiber in the interior, and a new exhaust system with even more melodious tones.
Carefully and regularly maintained since 2017 by EB Auto, a specialist in Italian sports cars in Sweden, according to the invoice records, the stamps in the service book, and the accompanying regular inspections, the 599 GTB Fiorano HGTE was driven during the warmer months and stored during the cold seasons, accounting for the 52, 545 kilometers shown on the odometer at the time of cataloging. It received a paint protection treatment in 2021 at Wellkept AB, and more recently, in late 2023, a full overhaul and general service were carried out.
