Description

Chassis No. ZLA831ABthe details below

Unveiled at the September 1991 Frankfurt Motor Show, Lancia's comprehensively updated Delta HF integrale was once again named "Delta HF integrale," though it quickly became known to enthusiasts as the HF integrale Evoluzione, or simply "Evo." Built from October 1991 through 1992, it arrived on the heels of the HF Integrale 16v's triumphant 1991 World Rally Championship campaign, where Lancia secured both the Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles. Even as the factory officially withdrew from rallying at the end of 1991, the Evoluzione would be campaigned the following season by the Martini Racing-backed Jolly Club, debuting at the 1992 Rallye Monte-Carlo. The result was a sixth and final consecutive Constructors' World Rally Championship, making the Evoluzione the last true homologation Delta, as the later Evoluzione II was not developed into a works rally car.

Under the hood, the familiar turbocharged 2. 0-liter, 16-valve engine gained output to 210 CV, aided primarily by a new single-outlet 60-mm exhaust. Chassis updates were extensive, with a strengthened steering rack, power steering oil cooler, reworked suspension hardware, raised front strut towers joined by an aluminum strut brace, and uprated brakes with larger discs and two-piston Brembo front calipers. Wider front and rear tracks necessitated more pronounced wheel-arch extensions, complemented by new bumpers, side skirts, hood, rear spoiler, and distinctive five-bolt 15-inch Speedline Montecarlo wheels.

The example presented here is one of approximately 295 examples showcasing a vibrant Giallo Ferrari livery, beautifully complemented by a black perforated leather cabin. Notable equipment includes Bosch anti-lock brakes, Recaro seats, air conditioning, and cohesive yellow-on-black instruments that echo the exterior color scheme. The car's Italian libretto shows that chassis 579049 was first registered on 20 November 1992 in Udine, Italy, to Antonietta Romano. By January 2003, the Delta changed hands to Diego Castenetto of Manzano, and later to Paolo Tulissi, also in Manzano, in September 2006.

With many Integrales modified over the years, finding an Evo in its original factory specification has become increasingly uncommon. Showing 32, 764 km at cataloging and completed with two keys and its original owner's manual folio, this unmodified example embodies one of the late 20th century's most accomplished and versatile rally champions, ensuring its desirability among collectors for generations to come.
