Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show 2026 on Saturday the 21st of March - Sunday the 22nd of March, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT.
From 1975-1978 Jaguar introduced a short-lived two-door pillarless coupé version of the Series II XJ6, using the short-wheelbase floorpan and Daimler versions included the option of both six and twelve-cylinder engines
Beautifully presented in Old English White over Sand Velour, this elegant six-cylinder Coupé was first registered on the 26th October 1976 and supplied by Sutton Bridge Motors to the first of three long-term family owners
A signed letter by the first owner’s grandson states that the car was initially used as a second car up to his grandfather’s death in 1983, when it had covered approximately 23, 000 miles
Inherited by his father, the car was correctly stored, until it was registered to his son in 1997, who put it through an MOT in 2005 prior to a family wedding
It was purchased by our vendor in 2016 and has formed part of an eclectic collection of aircraft, Porsche, Ferrari, a Shelby Mustang and a Sunbeam Rapier!
Patently cherished, it benefits from a reconditioned gearbox and cosmetic works that include paintwork to the lower half
The detailed history file includes the original stamped Passport to Service, interior sample book, original toolkit and various other interesting period items
Presented to auction with just 24, 679 miles indicated, this is a simply delightful example of a very desirable model and worthy of your serious attention.
