Description
TGM 50 1978 ex official rider Nereo Dal Ferro. After winning the Italian championship in 1977 in the 50cc class, TGM prepared four of these motorcycles, one of which was for the Venetian Nereo Dal Ferro who raced for Scuderia Immobilgarda.
The engine was no longer the old Sachs but the Morini designed by TGM.
The engine was sand-cast and featured a gearbox entirely on rollers.
This powerplant was ahead of its time compared to the old Sachs, as it no longer had all the gearbox problems of the previous engine.
When TGM built this motorcycle, they could choose between two spark plugs because the measurements were the same: the TGM spark plug or the Sachs.
They chose the Sachs spark plug because it was manufactured by the German company Mahle with materials that we didn't have in Italy.
After competing in one race, given the introduction of the 18mm carburettor, TGM lost interest in the 50cc class and no longer participated officially.
The motorcycle is preserved in near-perfect condition.
Obviously it is fully functional and has remained exactly as it raced in 1978.
The exhaust is low because with this solution the motorcycle went much faster.
