We are very pleased to offer a 1988 GTM Rossa Kit Car. I purchased this for myself just over 12 months ago as I have always been curious about Mini variants and always wanted to own a GTM as I have been a big fan for many years. Work has got in the way as we are always very busy and I have unfortunately had very little time to spend on the GTM and it is a shame for it not to get the use it deserves. This is a beautifully built example that until last year had just one owner from new, the original sales invoice from 1988 is in the large history folder as well as long description of what he did with the GTM during his long term ownership. It was unused for many years and last year he had it fully recommissioned and it had a years MOT. This is a fully functioning GTM Rossa that needs some light fettling to get the most out of it and I have had to realise that I am not going to give it the time it deserves.
It is fitted with a very healthy MG Metro 1275cc engine with a Piper Fast road cam, electronic ignition and the original GTM stainless steel exhaust. It has a strong oil pressure and a precise gearbox. It can be driven on the road however it has a slight exhaust blow and I would also recommend a check over first.
The interior is very well presented with Corbeau GT seats with matching rears. It has a MG Metro clock binnacle and extra gauges for voltage and oil pressure. It also has a stereo and speakers in the rear. All of the switch gear works and it also has an alarm. This GTM is also a convertible, the roof can be lifted off for the full wind in that hair experience. I also have the convertible roof so it can be used as either a hard top or convertible.
The Fibreglass body is in good condition and it has spent its life garaged, it has the odd minor blemish and the Rosso red paintwork has started to fade although it is original and may be improved with a polish. The underside is very good as are the subframes and the whole tub is in good condition. It is very easy to work on as the rear can be quickly unbolted giving full access to the engine bay. It also has a huge amount of very useful spares easily enough to fill an estate car amassed over forty years by the original owner including a rear disc brake conversion.
Please remember that this is a project although only very light and could be back on the road in a few hours.
