Description
The 1974 model year Chevrolet Corvette C3 stands at an interesting juncture between two eras: it was the first to feature colour-coordinated flexible bumpers at both ends of the body, whilst the split rear section with a central seam became a distinctive feature of this particular model year. At the same time, it was the last Corvette produced without a catalytic converter and one of the last C3 variants to retain the untamed technical character of the early 1970s. The top-of-the-range small-block variant was the L82 engine with a displacement of 350 ** in (5. 7 litres), delivering a factory-rated power output of 250 SAE net horsepower. This 1974 model is fitted with a three-speed automatic gearbox and a 5. 7-litre L82 V8 engine, both of which are matching numbers. The car is mechanically sound, including the vacuum-operated system controlling the pop-up headlights, and is fitted with sidepipes; this is a retrofit from the period. The paintwork shows scuffs and localised blistering consistent with the age of the fibreglass bodywork’s finish. The car is ready for registration in the Czech Republic with either standard white number plates or historic number plates. Veteráni na Truc: a group of ordinary people who love cars.
