Thanks for looking at our 1984 Mercedes Benz 280E W123 series in a beautiful colour combination.
This is a rare car as she is in excellent condition throughout. For those who know about this gerenation of mercedes, rust was a major problem and has long seen the end of the cars which were not extensively maintained and looked after.
In 1999 the car had a restoration which included replacement wheelarches and extensive repairs to almost all panels and sills. The complete removal of any corrosion was done to a very high standard and was garaged by the previous owner and used as a second classic car; used for approximatly 600 miles a year with MOT's to prove. The arches, sills etc are still corrosion free.

Automatic transmission
Power Steering
Original Blaupunkt Radio Cassette and electric aerial.
The cloth interior is in fantastic condition with the only sign of wear being in the centre of the drivers seat base which has worn. Other than that, almost timewarp condition throughout!
The headgasket on the original engine was replaced in 1995 and following this the car only covered 10000 miles in the next 15 years! Due to this, the headgasket failed again and was reccomended as beyond economical repair by our mechanic. We sourced a replacement engine from a known car, a 1985 280ce that had only done 87000 miles. Sadly the 280ce had extensive rust throughout but the engine ran perfectly. This engine was installed to our car just over 3 months ago and runs faultlessly. She also had a MOT after this transplant.
The service history is extensive, with the book stamped until 84500 miles (now on 109000) and there is a display file (in date order) to show other work. The documentation includes the original owners manual, service book and pre delivery check sheet from Westway Mercedes in York on 04/ 09/ 1984.
Im summary, she is in excellent condition, drives beautifully and is a real credit to the previous owners.
She has just had a full service (oil, oil filter, air filter, new spark plugs) and also has had both rear calipers replaced.
Since these photos, she has had a full set of brand new tyres.
You will struggle to find another one like this!
