Description
Bedford MWR. 15cwt Radio truck.
This vehicle has undergone a ground up restoration over the last few years. I bought the truck 70% finished earlier this year and have completed the restoration to about 95%.
It has had a full overhaul of the drive train, new brakes linings, brake hoses, the engine has had a comprehensive rebuild, new water pump, new clutch, new rear body built in Ash and using all original fittings, rebuilt windscreens including new glass and rubbers.
The truck starts drives and stops very well. Has great oil pressure and out of the three I own drives by far the best.
This would be a great finish off project for someone who wants a great truck but doesn't want too much work to do. All of the big jobs have been done for you.
I have just completed the last job I wanted to do on the truck and given it a full respray using a red oxide base and then authentic British wartime green (298).
The vehicle is now fully road registered with an age related plate.
This was originally a radio truck and I can supply the fitting instructions for anyone wanting to put it back to the configuration. Although apart from the PTO and hand throttle, there is not much left of the radio configuration.
The reason for sale is that I bought three trucks with two of them as projects and have now run out of storage space so this one has to go. I will be sad to see it go as I have spent a lot of time and money on it, but the other projects need to come 1st.
To finish this off you will need to fit the new wiring loom and I will provide the new one that I bought for it. It need the petrol lines making and installing, it will need all rear tilt and cab hood bows making, it needs a full canvas set and various other small finishing details like vacuum wipers installing and door stays.
PLEASE NOTE that the truck DOES NOT come with the canvas and cab bows that are in the final photo, this is just to show what the truck looks like with them on. Although I may be able to provide both at a small extra cost as I have a supplier that is ready to make both. I have held them off at the moment as I wasn't sure if I was keeping.
The truck is located a few miles outside Banbury in Oxfordshire.
