Beschreibung
The Humber Sceptre MK1 is one of the best styled family saloon cars of the early 1960`s.
Rootes vehicles were always built to a very quality and their styling put them apart from other cars built at the same time.
This Humber Sceptre MK1 finished in Pippin Red was a display vehicle on the Rootes trade stand at the 1964 Motor Show held at Earls Court in 1964.
It was then delivered to a Portsmouth dealership and purchased by a Mrs Wiggington.
The car was then named " Pippin " due to its colour of Pippin red.
Mrs Wiggington owned the car for 38 years. Paper history and invoices shows she cared for the vehicle very well.
In 1992 Mrs Wiggington became too old to drive Pippin anymore and the Humber Sceptre was sold to a Mr Mayer who acquired the vehicle on the 17th October 1992, he also lived in Portsmouth.
Invoices, paper history and old MOT certificates shows a lot of time and thousands of pounds was spent on the vehicle to keep it in very good condition.
I have all the invoices showing all manner of items were renewed.
During this time invoices also show a brand new engine was fitted to the car which has still only covered little over 2, 000 miles to this day.
During Mr Mayer`s ownership the vehicle covered only 1141 miles. It was garaged all of this time and was only taken to local shows or events.
After 22 years ownership Mr Mayer decided to part with Pippin and sold the Humber Sceptre to a Mr Clarke on the 9th June 2014.
Due to a sudden change in circumstances Mr Clarke had to part with the Humber Sceptre and we acquired her on the 6th May 2015.
The mileage covered during the ownership by Mr Clarke was 925 miles.
The mileage covered during our ownership is to date 231 miles.

The underside is in perfect rust free condition mainly due to good storage conditions and the low mileage she has covered over the last 23 years.
The engine bay is neat and tidy with its original factory paint finish.
The engine starts first time, she handles and performs very well, the brakes stop her as they should.
The gearbox is four speed with a working overdrive.
I am a Rootes enthusiast and have owned many different models over the years.
We are only selling Pippin due to losing indoor storage in the near future.
