Beschreibung

1965 Morris Mini 1380 Cooper look-alike.

Everything I say below is truthful and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I am not in the business to cover anything up or hide anything… I don’t need to… this car is great!

I have owned this fantastic car for just over a year and have enjoyed every minute. The car has been subject to a great deal of previous work including a professional full front end rebuild, respray, twin tanks, new interior, exterior styling and much more. It is now in excellent overall condition with NO rust at all in the usual Mini places (A panels, scuttle, under headlights and so on). I had the car fully serviced last year after purchase and also had it rolling road tuned at Mini Master at Penrith. The engine made the magic 100bhp at the flywheel without reving past 6000rpm - which it will do if you need it to.

I also fitted a couple of new Yokohama front tyres and a new RC40 system which has a great note but is pretty muted in the car (unlike the Janspeed system I threw away which was hideously loud and gave no power benefit over this RC40).

I have used the car, it’s not been sitting in a garage for the whole time, although miles have been kept low due to it being a play thing not an every day driver. It is therefore NOT concourse. There are marks to the body work such as very minor door dents, a couple of very small stone chips and a tiny bit of rust. The worst rust is on the boot around one of the hinges. The original skin is still fitted and needs a little work to look perfect but as you can see from the picture it's nothing major.

The current engine was purchased by the 2nd previous owners in 2004 with 3500 miles on the clock (I have the original bill of sale from Minispeed). The previous owner purchased the car in 2005 and the engine had covered a total of 6750 miles. He covered a further 5600 miles in two years making a total of 12350. I purchased the car last January and have only covered another 1500 miles showing off around the lake district.

There is a whole book load of history with the car going back over the last four owners (including me). This includes hundreds of receipts for parts and work carried out, previous MOTs, photographs, parts listings etc.

The car is brilliant to drive, very fast and solid. Last tuned by Mini Master at Penrith when it recorded 100bhp at the flywheel. All documentation in history.

The rear roll cage is an FIA approved unit with a detachable diagonal.

A beautiful car but alas must now go to fund the build of a new double garage. Not many like this about that are genuine MK1s. Lots of fakes and MK11s but this looks much better with the smaller rear window. I looked at many before buying and made a 700 mile trip to get this. I wasn't disappointed and I don't believe you will be either.

Folks - I have had a couple of people round for test drives and if it helps here is some useful info. Yes, this is quite a quick Mini. It's a 100bhp engine so if you think it will be too much for your wife then this isn't the car for you. Go buy a Mini 1000. Next. It is a 40 year old car. Don't bother coming for a test drive until you have a suitable garage or cover sorted out first. Next. Check your insurance first. Unfortunately you youngsters will not get cover for £100 like I can at my old age of 45. An lastly - possibly the best to date - yes, it's quite shiny and will attract attention. So, if you really don't want to occasionally engage with folk for the occasional 'lovely car - I used to have one of those' type conversations then this isn't the car for you. Please don't waste another of my Saturdays!! All serious enquiries very welcome!!
