Description
I brought this car in from Sweden a couple of years ago and have her UK registered with age related plates.
1962, LHD 3 cylinder 2 stroke with 3 speed column gearchange and the unique Saab "freewheel" feature. Motor & transmission all working as they should, speedo showing 50, 100 km, I can't verify if this is genuine, but the good condition of the mechanical parts would suggest it is.
Original grey paint throughout, complete original interior in red/ grey with correct grey Saab rubber floor mat. All 4 chromed hubcaps are present, although not shown in pictures.
I have sourced all new brake wheel cylinders, relined shoes all round, and refurbished master clyinder with stainless barrel insert.
In restoration terms, both door skins need attention, and areas of the floor will need some straightforward welding, followed by a partial respray. A few of the chrome items will need replating too. I've been quoted £5k to really sort her out.
Totally original, complete example, becoming hard to find.
Sorry to let her go, but I have to slim down the fleet!
Inspection in Somerset welcome. I have a video walkround, showing interior & engine running which I can email if you contact me.
