We have taken a good, solid, low milage (77, 000) TL horsebox (actually AWD so with the superior Perkins engine) and stripped it back to the chassis and rebuilt it as a project with my sons between contracts - almost 1, 000 man hours.
The box is African hardwood and beautiful. We have left the horsebox as a blank canvas meaning that it is ready to have the trimmimg to make her into a stunning camper, studio, catering van or again for horses. The floor is in also African hardwood and completely solid and clean. We couldn't resist a bit of whimsy and added a brass porthole, which opens, into the luton. We thought it would be lovely as you lay in bed.
She maintains her tilt cab so that the engine is fully accessable. She is MOTed until the end of August, but she has only done 380 miles since the last one. We brought her back from Wales and she drove beautifully.
Horseboxes like this are increasingly rare and would only increase in value.
